book review

A couple of years ago I decided I should read a classic novel. I found a copy of Gone With The Wind at a library book sale when we lived in Portland. But I didn't start reading it until we moved here. I can't remember exactly when I began reading it, but it sure took me long enough (the sucker is a little over 1000 pages). But I'm proud to say that I finally finished it a couple of weeks ago! And then to celebrate we watched the movie (which now I love and doesn't seem very long:)
I would recommend everyone to read this book (if you haven't already). This may seem weird, but I loved how the main character was not your typical normal, good-hearted, sweet girl. She was selfish, conceited, and hateful...someone that you love to hate. But in the end you can see how she gradually changed and learned to love others, but when it came time to declare her love...she was too late. You do feel a bit sorry for her, but you get the feeling that she'll turn out ok.
Now, what next shall I read? Any suggestions?

Wow! Ambitious!

A short list of my favorite classics: Robinson Crusoe
Jane Eyre
The Scarlet Letter
The Count of Monte Cristo
Around the World in 80 Days
Little Women
Lord of the Rings
(in no particular order)

And you need to be on Goodreads!! I'll send you an invite. ACCEPT IT! ;)

Great idea. We just read the Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, and those were fun. (Plus, it would take you a LOT less time to read!) One of my favorite classics is Pride and Prejudice. And I echo the Atlas Shrugged suggestion. (Or anything by Ayn Rand.)
